The Council is charged with the administration and management of the Institute and is responsible for enforcing the provisions of the establishment Act, and for ensuring due compliance by the Institute with the provisions of all relevant enactments

The council consists of eleven members who are registered members of the Institute.

Three members of the Council are appointed by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development and the remaining eight members are elected by members of the Institute at the Annual General Meeting.
